Daily Itinerary

DAY 1

Arrive at the Lodge from 3pm in time for tea and freshly baked cake. (Complimentary pick up is available from Ludlow Station). Settle into your rooms and take a walk around the grounds.

Complimentary two course dinner in the fabulous dining room with pre dinner canapes beforehand and tea/coffee/homegrown lemon verbena tea after. Pre dinner cocktails* and wine* are also available with dinner.

DAY 2

Start your day with a visit to our unique Georgian cold bath for an early morning plunge.

After a delicious breakfast, today's route will take you into Ludlow to enjoy all the sights of Ludlow before stopping at the Ludlow Brewery for a local sourced light lunch and a fascinating guided tour of the Ludlow Brewery.

Time can also be given to exploring the rest of Ludlow. Highlights along the way include Ludlow Castle, Ludlow Museum and St Laurence's Church. Ludlow is full of lovely coffee shops, fantastic antiques, and vintage clothing shops so there is lots to explore and savour.

Tea and cake will be ready for your return.

Venison on the Menu*(For groups of 6 or more) is a fascinating hour demonstration led by a local chef and charcutier, giving guests an insight into the nutritional and environmental benefits of vension and showcasing some “easy to do” recipes. Dinner is included with tasty canapes followed by delicious venison dishes.

Alternatively, enjoy a delightful early evening with the wonderfully talented @friendsfoodflowers*, who will lead you on a foraging walk through our local woods to gather materials for your wreath. Afterwards, you’ll be expertly guided in creating your own beautiful autumnal or festive arrangement (minimum 2 persons)

Opportunity after dinner to use our hand-held bat detectors and wander around the outbuildings or book a fascinating Moth and Bat Safari* to experience all the nocturnal night life at the Salwey Lodge

Full walking time approximately 3- 4 hours (without stops). (Direct walk into Ludlow 40 mins).

DAY 3

Start your day with a re-energising class of yoga*.

After a delicious breakfast, today's walk will take you across our farm to Richard's Castle and through Mortimers Forest to see the stunning autumn colours as the leaves change and come up close to much of the wildlife resident in the Forest including our many species of deer.

Highlights will also include finding fossils evidencing the Ludlow Anticline (dating back 428 million years), the historic ruins of Richard's Castle, one of only three pre-Norman motte and bailey castles and the medieval church St Bartholomew's.

Packed lunches will be provided with locally sourced, seasonal produce

Your walk will bring you back to The Lodge for tea and cake before departing.
